Early Childhood Pre-Ballet/Movement Literacy Program:
Almost 3 Year Old Class: Children must be 2.5 years old by September 30, 2024. The perfect introduction to our Movement Literacy and Pre-Ballet programs, this class introduces movement fundamentals such as balance and coordination while establishing social and classroom skills such as listening to the teacher, sharing, and turn-taking.
3/4 Year Old Pre-Ballet/Movement Literacy Class: Children must be 3/4 years old by September 30, 2024 to participate in this level. We introduce age-appropriate ballet fundamentals through creative play. Children will be engaged physically, emotionally, intellectually, and creatively as their teacher uses imagery and imagination to make learning correct ballet technique a fun and exciting activity. Whether your child is interested in ballet or just likes to pretend, he/she will enjoy the fun and creative world of movement literacy program while also learning important physical, emotional, social, and classroom skills.
5 Year Old Pre-Ballet/Movement Literacy Class: Children must be 5 years old by September 30, 2024 to participate in this level. We introduce age-appropriate ballet fundamentals through creative play. Children will be engaged physically, emotionally, intellectually, and creatively as their teacher uses imagery and imagination to make learning correct ballet technique a fun and exciting activity. The 5 Year Old program will build on skill learned during the 4 Year Old program but it is not necessary to have taken the 4 Year Old class to participate.
Ballet Classes:
Jade Ballet: Approximate ages 6 Year olds and New 7 Year Olds in September 2024. Dancers will be guided in proper ballet technique while making a healthy transition from our pre-ballet movement literacy program into a more traditional ballet format. This class is also appropriate for children with no ballet experience.
Emerald Ballet: Approximate ages 7 - 8 Year Olds in September 2024 with one year at least one year of ballet at the barre experience. Dancers will be guided in proper ballet technique, expanding dance vocabulary, and exploring movement while building strength and flexibility.
Rose Ballet: Approximate ages 8—10 years old. Dancers with a strong basis in correct technique will be introduced to an expanded ballet vocabulary and challenged by level appropriate material and more complex patterning. Dancers should have two years of experience doing a traditional ballet class.
Ruby Ballet: Approximate ages 9—11 years old in September 2024. Dancers with a strong basis in correct technique will continue to expand ballet vocabulary and be challenged by level appropriate material and more complex patterning. Dancers should have three or more years of experience doing a traditional ballet class.
Garnet Ballet: Approximate ages 10-12 years old in September 2024. Dancers will build on a strong basis in correct technique. Dancers will be introduced to additional vocabulary, more complex patterning, and will continue to perfect their existing technique. This class is seen as a bridge course to help students thrive when they reach our Lilac/Amethyst levels. Dancers should have approximately 4-5 years of experience in a traditional ballet class. Two classes per week are highly recommended at this level.
Lilac Ballet - Approximate ages 12+ years old. Dancers with a strong basis in correct technique will be introduced to an expanded ballet vocabulary and challenged by level appropriate material and more complex patterning. Dancers should have approximately 5+ years of experience in a traditional ballet class. Two classes per week are highly recommended at this level.
Amethyst Ballet - 12+ Years Old with Studio Permission. Dancers at an advanced level will be expected to learn quickly, include complex ballet vocabulary such as beats and multiple turns. Dancers should have approximately 5+ years of experience in a traditional ballet class. Three classes per week are highly recommended at this level.
Pointe - Pointe class may only be taken in connection with the preceding Garnet/Lilac/Amethyst Ballet Classes.
Adult Ballet: This class is open to all levels of ballet experience for those ages 11+
Tap Classes:
Tap Classes: Children must be 6 years old by September 30, 2024 to participate in our tap classes.
Jade/Emerald Tap: (Approximate ages 6-8) - This class is designed to teach fundamental tap skills in a fun and creative environment. It is a comprehensive tap dance and music education program, created with a child’s social, physical, and emotional development in mind. Children will be engaged through the use of dramatic play, games, and fun activities while still learning proper tap technique.
Rose/Ruby Tap: (Approximate ages 9-11) - This class continues to build on skills learned in the past. The class maintains a fun atmosphere while focusing on proper tap technique of increasing difficulty.
Garnet/Lavender Tap: (approximate ages 10-13) - This class continues to build on skills learned in the past. The class maintains a fun atmosphere while focusing on proper tap technique of increasing difficulty.
Lilac/Amethyst Tap: (approximate ages 12+ or with permission) For tappers ages 12 through adult who want to improve their skills and get a great workout at the same time!
Modern/Jazz & Musical Theatre:
Jade/Emerald Modern/Jazz: (approximate ages 6-8 in September 2024) Dancers will learn the fundamentals of modern technique while exploring space and quality of movement./Jazz for Kids will focus on building classical jazz skills in a fun and age appropriate environment. All music and movement will be age appropriate.
Rose/Ruby Modern/Jazz: (approximate ages 8-11 in September 2022) Dancers will build on the fundamentals of modern technique while exploring space and quality of movement./Jazz will focus on building classical jazz skills. All music and movement will be age appropriate. All music and movement will be age appropriate. In order to enroll in Modern/Jazz dancers must be enrolled in a ballet class
Garnet Modern/Jazz: (approximate ages 10-12 in September 2022) Dancers will build on the fundamentals of modern technique while exploring space and quality of movement./Jazz will focus on building classical jazz skills. Lavender Modern/Jazz: (ages 12-13) Dancers will continue to build on modern and jazz skills while exploring repertoire and choreography. In order to enroll in Modern/Jazz dancers must be enrolled in a ballet class
Lilac Modern/Jazz: (Ages 12+) Dancers will continue to build on modern and jazz skills while exploring repertoire and choreography. In order to enroll in Modern/Jazz dancers must be enrolled in a ballet class
Amethyst Modern/Jazz: (Ages 12+ with permission) Dancers will continue to build on modern and jazz skills while exploring repertoire and choreography. In order to enroll in Modern/Jazz dancers must be enrolled in a ballet class
Acro:
Jade/Emerald Acro: (approximate ages 6-9 in September 2024) Dancers will build flexibility, strength, and confidence in Acro. Dancers use step by step progressions to work their way up through simple skills like forward rolls to more developed skills like handstands, cartwheels and more in a fun and age appropriate environment. All music and movement will be age appropriate.
Rose/Ruby Acro: (approximate ages 8-11 in September 2024) Dancers will build flexibility, strength, and confidence in Acro. Dancers use step by step progressions to work their way up through simple skills like forward rolls to more developed skills like handstands, cartwheels, back walkovers and more in a fun and age appropriate environment. All music and movement will be age appropriate.
Hip Hop:
Jade/Emerald Hip Hop: (approximate ages 6-9 in September 2024) Dancers will explore a new genre of movement with elements of street dance and mixed skills adapted from other forms of dance. All music and movement will be age appropriate.
Rose/Ruby/Garnet Hip Hop: (approximate ages 8-12 in September 2024) Dancers will explore a new genre of movement with elements of street dance and mixed skills adapted from other forms of dance. All music and movement will be age appropriate.
